I’ve been listening to the new album like crazy and I want to congratulate you on the success that I know you’ve had to date in Europe with “Tales from the Beach” and I know that this gets a US release on, I think, the 24th of June.
I’ve read comments that you’ve made about the songwriting being some of the strongest you’ve ever done and I just can’t stop playing the record. The lyrics come across maybe more strongly than they have on any of the other albums. They’re instantly grabbing me and I just can’t leave it alone. So, the first question I had about the album itself was and the way it came to being was – I know that a lot of the recording was done in Europe but the mixing, I think, was done over in Indonesia. And I wondered how that came about. Was this by chance or was it always planned that it would be that way?
B The album title “Tales from the Beach” tells you that I wanted to be around the coastline for writing this so I went to Italy and wrote on the coastline there and I was spending a lot of time in Indonesia – I’ve made a lot of friends there.
